Defensive parenting

Well another day of football I should say another COLD day at football! Derek played in the snow. Apparently it was freezing and still snowing during the game.
They won so I am starting to think that the cold rainy weather is good for Derek's team, they are now in 3rd place so they definitely have to win next week. I just watch the weather and it is suppose to storm so that just might be lucky for them!
On the other hand it really doesn't matter what the weather is for Cameron's team rain, snow, wind, cold, hot, etc... they still have only won one game but like I have said before he is having a blast!
Why is it that we as parents get so defensive of our children? I am the first to say that at the last game ( Cameron's) he did not play so well, Dan bought him a hand warmer. Needless to say he had his hands in it most of the time (which i think is the smart thing to do, it was dang cold)but..... he did tackle the kid with the ball a couple times so you think that because he stopped the play that would be a good thing right?!?! Well this last practice the coaches decided to reward the kids that done there job. Well Cameron did not get any stickers. He was OK with it but I was not! I saw him get those tackles ~cause I am watching him constantly and not worried about 18 other players on the team~ I really think he deserves a sticker! So here I am being a defensive parent which, I hate parents like that specially when they come and complain to Dan ( head coach of Derek's team) .
Why do I care about a sticker? When Cameron's exact words were "Those stickers don't even match our colors, why would they get yellow and white crossbones when are colors are silver and blue!" Which I am sure he was just saying it just cause he didn't get one.
But, he really is OK about it! So good for him for not being jealous and petty like some parents *em em*. You know that wouldn't be me ;)
I do care, I think to because he is really loving the game and is actually pretty OK at it! I would really hate to see him get discourage with it over a sticker. To bad everyone isn't as perfect as the Terry's [(ha ha ha) That is a joke if you did not get that].
Well I am done venting *I think* So this is a picture of my perfect child playing the perfect sport. But.... having a blast! Again sarcasm.

So after the game we all got warm and Derek shared his excitement about his game as his teeth were chattering cause he was soaked to the bone which did not bother him, he couldn't wait to tell me in exact detail of the touch down he made and the extra points. Also what everyone else did and how they scored. Still while his teeth were chattering!
Here is a picture of Cameron and his buddy from his team. They got to have a sleep over and they had a blast (can you tell that is my word?)!

Well........Until next time! Oh by the way Cameron did win his little game they played at halftime on Friday but, Dan took pictures of that with his fancy Camera so who knows when I will see them! ~ Ignore the grammar
